Daily Devotional 01/07/2008

This is the first of hopefully many daily devotionals. Do you often wonder what God's will for your life is? We will look at some basic truths from the Bible.

To know God's will you must know God. To get to know God better we need to spend more time with him in a quiet area.1. Pick a place that you can be alone with God. 2. Pick a time of day when you can be alone with God. For some people mornings are better. Some people like to spend time with the Lord before they go to sleep. I like to do my devotions in the morning.

Ps 119: verse 11 says "Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee" Ps 119 verse 105 says Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. "The best way to get to know God better is to spend time alone with God daily in a quiet place.God will speak to you if you hear his voice. We will look into how we can be closer to God. The areas we will look into are praising God, praying to God and reading the Bible. I love Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 and 6. It states " Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not upon thine own understanding. verse 6. In all thine ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Begin your time alone with the Lord today!

How did your first day go? I hope you found time to pray and read the Bible. A guide to your devotional time can be based on ACTS. A stands for adoration. Praise God for what He has done for you. Psalm 117 states " Praise the Lord , all yu nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love towards us, and the faithfulnessof the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord"
C stands for confession. Confess your sins to the Lord daily in prayer. Ask the Lord to cleanse you from your sins so you can be in right fellowship with the Lord.
T stands for thanksgiving. I Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 18 says" In everything give thanks : for this is the will of God in Christ  concerning you".
S stands for supplication. This is the time you bring your requests and concerns to the Lord. The Bible says pray without ceasing. It means to always be in the attitude of prayer. Pray for your friends, family and for yourself. Lord bless you today. Keith LakeDevotional 01/09/07
To learn God's will for your life you need to read the Bible on a daily basis. Psalm 27 verse 11 states " Teach me thy way , O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of thine enemies." psalm 143 verse 10 states " teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God; thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness". When we read the Bible we learn what God wants us to do with our life. We can obey God on a daily basis. When we obey God He gives us more light or understanding. So we need to pray daily and to read the Bible daily asking the Lord to show us what He wants us to do. God gives us things to do in our daily routines. We go to work. God gives us opportunities to tell others about Him. Don't miss out on the opportunity to witness to others. Even in the small things of life God is in it. Lord bless you. Please leave feedback if you would like to. My e-mail address is lakekeith@yahoo.com. Keith

We have looked at finding God's will for your life. We have stated the importance of prayer and reading the Bible on a daily basis. When we do these things we know God better and are ready to hear God's will for our lives.

To get to know God's will for our lives we need to be under sound preaching every opportunity we can get. Roman chapter 10 verse 17 states " So then faith cometh by hearing , and hearing by the Word of God."God speaks to us by Godly men, preaching God's Word. God shows us His will if we are open to hearing God's Will for our lives.

We hear God's Will by God's still small voice.
Isaiah chapter 30 verse 21 states" And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee , saying , This is the way, walk ye in it, when you turn from the right hand, and when you turn to the left" This verse suggests God speaks to us even with our everyday decisions.
If we are close to the Lord we develop the mind of Christ. Phillipians chapter 2 verse 5 states " Let this mind be in you who also which was also in Christ Jesus." We are in a state of mind where we will know what God wants for our lives. These decisions are made daily.  When we are faithful with the little things God asks us to do He will give us more responsibility. Ask God to show you where you are in this process. What does God want you to do today to serve Him? God bless. Keith Lake.

God wants to be involved with you every day. God wants you to draw closer to Him. God loves us with an endless love. John 3:16 says " For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 15:9 states " As the Father hath loved me, so I loved you continue ye in my love," God sent His only Son Jesus because God loved us so much He allowed Jesus to die for our sins. God's love is inseperable. Romans 8:35 states " Who shall seperate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation , or distress, or persecution , or famine , or nakedness, or peril, or a sword"?Romans 8:38-39 state"For I am persuaded, that neither death , nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come ,nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to seperate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" God loves us and wants what is best for us. He wants us to know His will for our lives. Are you close to God? He wants to be close to you. If you are away from the Lord , remember God has not moved , you have. Come back to the Lord. He is waiting for you to call out to Him in prayer"
